The Walled Garden

Osmanthus (the sweet olive) is a plant that I grow on my windowsill. In the morning I grind fresh coffee beans and the two fragrances combine for a heavenly treat. I usually just enjoy this in my sub conscience but I realized what a great part of my day it was and now I am going to share that sensation with you. This is a cold winter day with the thin light of December combing throught the tree branches, but you are the lady of the house and you are making a good cosy home for your family and this aroma makes you smile. The name is from a concept of Medieval art, a walled garden represented a woman who contained all of the delights of the senses but was protected by and encircling wall, like we protect ourselves from the elements in our homes. Sometimes a unicorn was encircled by a protecting wall or fence, and the idea of protecting innocence was the theme. A small peice of domestic heaven.

oui cela sent comme les grains de café bonbons que l'on trouve dans certaines décorations patissières... café-ganache

J'aime beaucoup l'odeur du café (mais pas son goût). Je redoute juste un peu l'amertume mais si tu dis bonbons, c'est que c'est plutôt sucré ?

C'est foody foody sans le côté osmanthus dont elle parle au début ? (je ne sais pas ce que ça sent l'osmanthus ?! ).

c'est sucré mais pas foody : enfin pas comme une gourmandise juste une touche

je viens de le recevoir d'un troc. En fait je préfère son odeur à la bouteille. Sur la main je ne sens plus le café, je pensais que ça serait plus "café" Je vais le porter sur moi pour voir.... mais pas convaincue !

C'est étonnant, il sent le café sur moi... dommage que tu sois déçue!
